Khaby Lame, Senegalese TikTok star who has made news headlines for just staying silent has been announced Qatar national Bank’s official FIFA World Cup brand ambassador.
The Qatar National Bank is the largest financial institution in Africa and the Middle East, headquartered in Doha, Qatar. It was founded in 1964 and has subsidiaries and associates in 31 countries.
Khaby has over 150 million followers on Tiktok and over 80 million followers on Instagram earning him global prominence on social media. He is expected to have a “dreaming big” themed television commercial with Qatar National Bank.
“Lame was selected as a perfect representative of QNB Group’s values and Qatar’s can-do spirit. His ambitions have been achieved through a combination of hard work, determination, and imagination, much like the country of Qatar.” QNB Spokesperson has said.
The social media sensation has earned many accolades. Early this year, he was among the top earners in the 2022 Forbes list of Under 30 Europe Art and Culture list. With this new contract as a brand ambassador, his earnings are estimated to go up to $10 million by the close of this year.
The social media celebrity most earnings stem from endorsement deals and content from social media especially Tiktok and Instagram.
Social media, especially TikTok, has been the safe haven for the youth giving numerous opportunities for the young to explore and make financial gains, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and the likes are no exception.
