Suspected China ‘Spy Balloon’ flying over U.S. airspace has been shot down as Tensions rise between the U.S. (Washington) and China (Beijing)
US-China relations pushed by antagonism near to open conflict over downing of the ‘Spy balloon’
Washington has accused Beijing of violation of its airspace upon spotting a balloon believed to be spying on Americans.
China has however denied the claims describing the balloon as a ’Spy balloon’ and insisted it was of a “civil nature” for monitoring the weather and had inadvertently trespassed into US airspace but the U.S. has refuted the claims.
The suspected Chinese spy balloon floated over the US for a week with most civilians wandering what that was before US military shot it down off its East Coast
China has swiftly protested the downing of its balloon threatening to respond accordingly.
We solemnly protest the U.S. action, and retain the right to use the necessary means to deal with similar circumstances, China’s Defense Ministry said in its two-sentence statement.
The incident has led to the US Secretary of State, Blinken Antony J. Blinken to postpone his scheduled trip to China.
Reports indicate that the debris of the ‘Spy balloon’ will be examined in a lab to ascertain the what it actually is.
