The Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association has debunked trending claims purporting that the association supports NDC Presidential hopeful, John Dramani Mahama to run for President
Trending media reportage suggests that the association offers its support for the former president’s bid for another term as the country’s general elections inch close.
The Abossey Okay Spare Sparts association as any patriotic association and unbiased as it could be has responded to these claims refuting the media reportage of their intention to support for the former president, John Mahama.
Our attention has been drawn to a publication in some of the print media and on the radio that Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association and some Union leaders have petitioned the former President, John Mahama urging him to contest for the Presidency in the 2024 general elections.”
It was some people from Abossey Okai who decided to join the group to meet the former President. And so, we are surprised that they paraded themselves as Abossey Okai Spare parts Dealers Association.
The statement explained that “We wish to state that those people who joined the group to meet the former President are not either the Executives or even members of the Abossey Okai Spare parts Dealers Association” It was some people from Abossey Okai who decided to join the group to meet the former President. And so, we are surprised that they paraded themselves as Abossey Okai Spare parts Dealers Association. The Statement read
Former president, John Mahama publicly expressed his desire to run for president for the National Democratic Congress in the upcoming general elections.
Some Ghanaians have said, the president’s comeback may not be ideal as he had the chance during his tenure to turn things around for the benefit of the entire nation but failed to salvage the economy.
The NDC and some Ghanaians however have stressed that the NDC as compared to the NPP with regards to performance indicators and current economic conditions are better off and competent to manage the economy.
The NPP has responded to these claims and criticised the past NDC government of poor policies that brought about economic hardships in the country.
The statement released by the association further clarified their unwavering support for all political parties and that the association embraces all political parties that will bring policies which will positively impact their business and the economy at large.
We wish to state that, Abossey Okai Spare parts Dealers Association is a non-political Association and will not embark on that action. Our office is open to every political party and that is the reason why in every election year, all the political parties troop to our office and have deliberations with us,
We don’t dabble in politics and will continue to engage with every party in government to come out with policies that will have a positive impact on our business as it has always been. The Statement added in clarification.
