we are not guilty and we still stand by that,” nana appiah mensah following court’s dismissal of ‘no case’ applic

Nana Appiah Mensah also known as NAM 1, Chief Executive Officer of defunct gold delearship firm Menzgold has had his ‘No Case’ application dismissed by an Accra High Court.

The embattled CEO has had a couple of application seeking to lessen the gravity of the case before the court in his charges of defrauding by false pretence, money laundering and other charges, dismissed since the closure of his business.

Justice Ernest Owusu-Dapaah adjudicated during the court proceedings and maintained that Nam 1 and CEO of Brew Marketing Consul will have to open their respective defences as they were charged with 39 counts of various offences.

The charges include selling gold without a license, operating a deposit-taking business, inducement to invest, defrauding by pretences, fraudulent breach of trust, and money laundering involving the sum of over GH₵340 million.

Remarks Made by Menzgold Boss, Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM1)

We had some acquittals and a huge chunk of the charges have been dismissed, which is fine. We disagree with the judgment of the court, but it is worthy of note that the disagreement does not in any way erode our confidence in the judiciary or the court,

I will speak with the legal team of the defense and we will consider and explore all necessary rights to redress under the parameters of rule of law. We have always maintained that we are not guilty and we still stand by that, he remarked.
